Manchester United are preparing for a major summer shake-up — and Alejandro Garnacho and Antony look increasingly likely to be part of the clear-out.
Garnacho, 20, remains one of United’s most exciting young talents but is now on the fringes of Ruben Amorim’s plans.
Despite flashes of brilliance over the last two seasons, sources close to the club suggest United are ready to cash in if the price is right. A host of clubs — including Napoli, Chelsea, Aston Villa, Bayern Munich, and PSG — are monitoring his situation closely.
United are said to want around £70 million, but Napoli’s initial bid — believed to be in the region of €55m plus bonuses — has already been turned down.
Amorim reportedly told Garnacho to start looking for a new club, as the Argentine doesn’t fit into the tactical reshuffle INEOS is planning for the wide areas.
Despite his popularity with fans and a healthy return of 26 goals and 22 assists in 144 appearances, Garnacho’s days at Old Trafford now look numbered.
Meanwhile, Antony’s time at the club appears to be drawing to a close in even more unusual fashion.
Signed for £86 million in 2022, the Brazilian winger has never truly delivered on his price tag. His recent loan spell at Real Betis offered a glimpse of form — with five goals and two assists — but not enough to justify another season at United.
Betis are exploring a rare co-ownership deal worth around £17 million, where both clubs would retain a stake in the player’s rights. United are yet to be convinced and would prefer a cleaner sale or a higher guaranteed fee, reported The Sun.
The exits of Garnacho and Antony would mark a significant shift in United’s attacking blueprint — with Amorim looking to inject pace, work rate, and flexibility into a forward line that has grown stagnant.
With pre-season fast approaching, the message is clear: United are open for business — and no one is safe.
