Manchester United have been handed a major fitness boost ahead of their Europa League final showdown against Tottenham Hotspur, with Diogo Dalot, Leny Yoro, and Joshua Zirkzee all returning to first-team training.
The trio were pictured back on the grass at Carrington during Monday’s session, just two days before the biggest match of United’s season — and potentially a defining night for Rúben Amorim’s debut campaign in charge.

✅ Returnees Strengthen Squad

  • Diogo Dalot, who missed recent fixtures due to calf tightness, is now expected to start on the right flank, offering crucial balance and energy in Amorim’s 3-4-3 system.
  • Leny Yoro, the 19-year-old French centre-back, was a surprise inclusion after recovering from a foot injury that had kept him sidelined for several weeks. While he may not start, he provides much-needed cover for a defensive line hit by injuries.
  • Joshua Zirkzee, initially ruled out for the remainder of the season with a hamstring issue, has made a remarkable recovery. He returned to light training last week and is now in contention for a place on the bench, offering Amorim a different option in attack should he need it.
“It’s a big boost for us — we’ve managed them carefully, and they’ve responded well,” Amorim said after Monday’s session. “Now we make the final decision on matchday.”

❌ De Ligt to Miss Final

The only major setback is the confirmed absence of Matthijs de Ligt. The Dutch international has failed to recover from a muscular injury sustained during the 4-3 loss to Brentford earlier this month.
He hasn’t featured in training and has been officially ruled out of Wednesday’s final.
“Matthijs won’t be ready, unfortunately,” Amorim admitted. “We’ll miss his experience, but the group is ready.”
United now head to Bilbao with renewed confidence, bolstered by the return of three key squad members.
With Champions League qualification and a major trophy on the line, Amorim will hope his rejuvenated side can deliver a statement performance on the European stage.
