Antony has shared a heartfelt message with fans following his loan move from Manchester United to Real Betis for the remainder of the season.
The Brazilian winger joined the La Liga side in a bid to regain his form after struggling to make an impact at Old Trafford.
Antony, who arrived at United in a high-profile transfer from Ajax in 2022, faced challenges living up to expectations.
After the loan was confirmed, Antony posted on social media, sharing photos from his unveiling with the caption: "Intense day! Made a new story!"
Betis will cover the majority of Antony's wages during the loan period, but the deal includes no option or obligation to buy, meaning the 24-year-old is set to return to Manchester United next season.
United manager Ruben Amorim expressed hope that Antony would come back revitalized.
The winger did not start a single Premier League match under Amorim, who previously said Antony needs to regain his confidence.
"If you remember the Antony at Ajax, he lacks a little bit of confidence to go one-v-one, so he will improve," Amorim remarked.
"But he's working really hard, trying, and playing more inside than outside. That hard work will help him become a better player."
Antony’s departure may not be the last from United this month. Marcus Rashford and Alejandro Garnacho are both rumored to be considering exits.
Rashford, who has not played since December, recently declared he is "ready for a new challenge," with Barcelona reportedly among the clubs interested.
When asked about Rashford’s future ahead of United’s clash with Fulham, Amorim said: "I don't know [if he will leave]. I really don’t know. We will see at the end of the window what happens and talk about it then."
Meanwhile, Garnacho has been linked to Serie A side Napoli and Premier League rivals Chelsea.
Amorim addressed Garnacho’s situation after United’s match against Rangers: "No, I’m focused on the games, and he’s here. He’s a player for Manchester United.
"He was really important for us today, and we’ll see in the next days. I think he’s improving in every aspect of the game.
"He was better today playing inside, also outside, changing positions. You can see it—until the 90th minute, he’s always there recovering and helping.
"Sometimes showing frustration is good because it means he wants more.
"I think he has the potential to be so much better in every aspect of the game.
"What I can say is he understood what I was trying to do. I just want to help them, but in the end, it’s the players who do the job."
With the January transfer window nearing its conclusion, United’s squad could see further changes, but the hope remains that Antony’s loan spell will be a turning point in his career.
