Antony reveals joy at securing a move away from Manchester United, with the Brazilian winger heading to Real Betis on loan until the end of the season.
The Spanish club has agreed to cover a substantial portion of Antony’s wages and may face penalties if the player doesn’t receive sufficient game time.
Speaking to reporters upon his arrival at a Spanish airport, Antony shared his enthusiasm, saying, “I’m so happy, I’m ready.”
The move marks the end of a challenging chapter for Antony at Old Trafford.
Since his £85 million transfer from Ajax, the 24-year-old has made 96 appearances for the Red Devils but scored just 12 goals.
This season, Antony has struggled for opportunities under manager Ruben Amorim, starting only three matches across all competitions.
While he may miss Betis’ upcoming clash against Mallorca due to time constraints, he is expected to debut in the following fixture.
United boss Ruben Amorim previously acknowledged Antony’s difficulties and vowed to help him regain his confidence.
Reflecting on Antony’s performances last month, Amorim said: “He needs more confidence. If you remember the Antony at Ajax, he lacks a little bit of confidence to go one-v-one, so he will improve.
"He’s working really hard, playing more inside than outside. That will help him become a better player.”
Meanwhile, Manchester United are navigating additional transfer speculation involving key players.
Napoli has shown interest in Alejandro Garnacho, while Chelsea is reportedly considering a move for the Argentine forward, with United valuing him at around £70 million.
Marcus Rashford is also attracting attention, although his options appear limited.
AC Milan’s recent loan signing of Kyle Walker from Manchester City has diminished the likelihood of a Rashford move to the Serie A club.
While Borussia Dortmund and Barcelona have been linked, neither club has made concrete moves to secure the England international.
