Manchester United manager Ruben Amorim has expressed concern over Lisandro Martinez's injury, describing the situation as "serious."
The Argentine defender went down in the 75th minute of Sunday’s 2-0 defeat to Crystal Palace after landing awkwardly from an aerial duel.
Martinez looked in clear distress and was stretchered off after receiving medical attention, raising fears of a significant injury.
Speaking to MUTV, Amorim provided an update: "He's going to be seen by the doctor, but I think it's a serious situation, so it's really bad for our team."
In his post-match press conference, he elaborated further: "Licha is really important for us, not just as a football player, but as a character, especially in this hard moment.
"Now it’s time to help him. I think it’s a bad situation. Let’s wait to assess things with the doctor, but I believe it's serious."

Martinez’s Injury Struggles Continue

Since joining United from Ajax in 2022, Martinez has endured multiple injury setbacks, including: Metatarsal fracture, foot injury, knee ligament damage
His latest setback follows a medial collateral ligament injury sustained against West Ham in February 2024, which ruled him out for much of the second half of last season.
With another spell on the sidelines likely, United will be hoping for positive news from further medical assessments.
United endured a frustrating afternoon at Old Trafford as Crystal Palace secured a 2-0 victory on Sunday.
United started brightly, with Kobbie Mainoo hitting the post in the first half, while Andre Onana produced a superb save to deny Jean-Philippe Mateta, keeping the game goalless at the break.
However, Palace took the lead shortly after the hour mark when United failed to clear a set piece, allowing Mateta to tap home after the ball rebounded off the crossbar.
United’s woes deepened late on as Lisandro Martinez was stretchered off with a knee injury before Mateta struck again, sealing the win for Palace.
