Manchester United's move for Mathys Tel has reportedly fallen through, clearing the path for Arsenal to sign the Bayern Munich forward.
United had been leading the race for the 19-year-old, who has struggled for game time under Vincent Kompany.
Tel had already rejected a move to Tottenham, boosting United’s hopes of securing a deal, especially with Marcus Rashford set to join Aston Villa on loan.
However, according to multiple reports, negotiations between United and Bayern have completely collapsed.
Despite extensive talks over the weekend, no agreement could be reached. Bayern rejected all of United’s proposals, making it clear that the move will “not happen.”

Arsenal Still in the Running

With United now out of the race, Arsenal remain in contention as they look to bolster their attacking options and close the gap on league leaders Liverpool.
According to the Daily Mail, United and Bayern could not reach a consensus over payment terms, and a resolution is now deemed unlikely.
Tel, who has scored 16 goals in 83 appearances for Bayern, is eager to leave in search of more regular minutes.

Ruben Amorim’s Response

Following United’s 2-0 defeat to Crystal Palace, manager Ruben Amorim was asked about the club’s transfer plans but remained tight-lipped: "When the window closes, we will see our players.
"Right now, I am focused on improving the team as a group. We need to win more games, build momentum, and avoid past mistakes while balancing the urgency of the moment."
Amorim also acknowledged United’s struggles in attack, after experimenting with Kobbie Mainoo as a false nine against Palace.
"We need to improve in every aspect of the game, especially scoring goals.
"This market is difficult, and when clubs act out of urgency, mistakes happen. We are trying everything to strengthen the squad, but sometimes it is not possible."
With the transfer window closing soon, United’s hopes of reinforcing their attack before the deadline appear slim.
