Manchester United are on the verge of completing the signing of highly-rated French striker Enzo Kana-Biyik, with only minor paperwork left before the deal is officially finalised.
Kana-Biyik, 18, has emerged as one of the more intriguing youth acquisitions of the
Rúben Amorim era.
He was first linked with
United in early spring, and it’s understood that the player travelled to Manchester in April to undergo final assessments and complete the final steps of his transfer. Sources now suggest that only red tape remains before the move is confirmed.
The Frenchman, who previously played for Le Havre, turned down interest from several Ligue 1 clubs — including Marseille and Monaco — to join United.
The deal has reportedly been agreed for months, with United planning to send Kana-Biyik on loan to Swiss club FC Lausanne-Sport, owned by INEOS, for the 2025/26 season as part of his development pathway.
“United see him as one for the future — a technically sharp, physical striker who’s still raw, but with huge upside,” one scout familiar with the deal told
MEN.
Kana-Biyik is known for his intelligent movement off the ball, composure in front of goal, and ability to operate both centrally and in wide channels — traits that align with the multi-functional forward profile Amorim wants in his system.
While he’s not expected to make an immediate impact at Old Trafford, his arrival is viewed as a strategic move — similar to the approach United took with youngsters like Willy Kambwala, Dan Gore, and more recently Bendito Mantato, who also signed his first professional deal this summer.
“This is the type of long-term thinking that United lacked for years,” said a source close to INEOS. “Build now — reap the benefits later.”
Once the final paperwork is completed, Kana-Biyik will become United’s second confirmed youth signing of the summer, as the club continues to blend elite recruitment at senior and academy levels.
