Manchester United have confirmed the signing of highly rated French forward Enzo Kana-Biyik from Le Havre, marking their third addition of the summer transfer window.
The 18-year-old arrives at Old Trafford after his contract with the Ligue 1 club expired, allowing United to secure his services on a free transfer, though they will pay a modest compensation fee to Le Havre in line with FIFA regulations.
Kana-Biyik is considered one of France’s most promising young attacking talents.
Last season, he scored nine goals in 18 appearances for Le Havre’s Under-19 side and was named on the bench for the senior team twice, though he did not make his first-team debut.
He also made his debut for France’s U18 national team in March and has since earned seven caps at youth international level, it is reported.
Despite signing a long-term contract with United, Kana-Biyik will not immediately join Ruben Amorim’s first-team squad. Instead, he will spend the 2025/26 season on loan at Swiss Super League club Lausanne-Sport, who are also owned by INEOS, United’s co-owners.
This move is designed to give the young striker valuable senior experience in a competitive environment, mirroring the development path of several recent United signings.
Kana-Biyik comes from a footballing family, with both his father and older brother having represented Cameroon at the international level1. United’s official announcement welcomed the forward and wished him success during his loan spell in Switzerland.
He joins a busy summer of activity at Old Trafford, following the arrivals of Matheus Cunha from Wolves and Paraguayan defender Diego Leon from Cerro Porteño.
Meanwhile, United continue to pursue Brentford’s Bryan Mbeumo as they look to further strengthen their attacking options for the upcoming campaign.
The signing of Kana-Biyik underlines United’s commitment to investing in emerging talent, as the club seeks to modernize its recruitment strategy and build for the future under new leadership.
