Manchester United’s pre-season preparations for the 2025/26 campaign are in full swing, with a phased return of
players to Carrington under manager
Ruben Amorim.
The first group reported back on Monday, including new signings Matheus Cunha and
Diego Leon, who were warmly welcomed by teammates as they donned the club’s new training kit and underwent initial fitness testing in the gym.
Among those pictured arriving for the first sessions were Amad, Harry Amass, Toby Collyer, Matthijs de Ligt, Tyler Fredricson, Tom Heaton, Ayden Heaven, Kobbie Mainoo, Noussair Mazraoui, Mason Mount, Andre Onana, Luke Shaw, and Joshua Zirkzee.
The atmosphere was described as positive, with players catching up over breakfast before getting down to work in the gym.
On Thursday, a second wave of players—primarily those who had been on international duty—rejoined the group.
This included Altay Bayindir, Casemiro, Diogo Dalot, Patrick Dorgu, Bruno Fernandes, Rasmus Hojlund, Chido Obi, and Manuel Ugarte.
The returning internationals were seen embracing staff and meeting new arrivals, with captain Bruno Fernandes and Casemiro among the most notable faces back at Carrington.
The club’s summer signings have been quick to settle, with Matheus Cunha expressing excitement about joining United and praising the warm welcome from teammates, particularly referencing his budding friendship with Noussair Mazraoui.
United’s pre-season schedule is packed, beginning with a fixture against Leeds United in Stockholm on July 19, followed by a U.S. tour featuring matches against West Ham, Bournemouth, and Everton.
The squad will continue to build fitness and cohesion ahead of a high-profile Premier League opener against Arsenal.
With the Carrington training complex nearing the end of its £50 million revamp, United are aiming for a fresh start after a difficult previous season. The staggered return of players and the integration of new signings signal a renewed focus as Amorim looks to reshape the squad and set the tone for a crucial campaign
