Manchester United are looking at a double swoop from Wolves to help rebuild the club.
Wolves manager Vitor Pereira has heaped praise on Matheus Cunha as speculation grows around
United's interest in the Brazilian star.
Meanwhile, a second Wolves player,
Rayan Aït-Nouri, is also reportedly on Ruben Amorim’s radar as United look to bolster their squad.
Cunha has been a standout performer for Wolves this season, netting 10 goals in 20 Premier League appearances.
He delivered a stellar performance during Wolves’ 2-0 victory over United on Boxing Day, scoring directly from a corner and assisting Hwang Hee-chan's late goal.
This display reportedly left a significant impression on United, with manager Ruben Amorim eager to make Cunha a key addition to his attacking lineup.
United’s Interest in Cunha and Aït-Nouri
The Independent reports that Manchester United are targeting both Cunha and Aït-Nouri.
Cunha, who has been valued at £60 million, could provide much-needed firepower alongside Rasmus Højlund, while Aït-Nouri, priced at £40 million, is being considered as a potential long-term successor to Luke Shaw.
Pereira’s Admiration for Cunha
In a recent interview with Sky Sports, Pereira highlighted Cunha's qualities:"
He is a perfect player. If he receives the ball in the right zones, he can decide the game.
He is fast with the ball, unpredictable, and capable of creating something special. He has everything we need in a creative player."
When asked about Cunha’s future, Pereira added: "Now he is my player, and I am enjoying it.
"If, in the future, he goes to a big club, I will be happy for him. He is quality, and the quality of his work is outstanding."
United Face Competition and Financial Challenges
Manchester United will need to fend off competition from Arsenal, who have also shown strong interest in Cunha.
However, with Wolves' £60 million price tag, a move may have to wait until the summer due to United's current financial constraints.
The club is reportedly looking to offload several high-earning players to make room for new signings.
In addition to Cunha and Aït-Nouri, United are in talks with Serie A side Lecce for promising 20-year-old left-back Patrick Dorgu.
The Danish talent has been linked with Tottenham Hotspur, but United are now leading the race to secure his signature.
TEAMtalk reports that Dorgu has expressed his desire to join United as part of the next step in his career.
Antony and Real Betis Loan Deal
Among United’s efforts to balance their books, Brazilian winger Antony is set to join Real Betis on a six-month loan, as confirmed by Fabrizio Romano’s "here we go" announcement.
The move is expected to generate interest for a permanent transfer this summer.
As United navigate their financial limitations, the potential additions of Cunha, Aït-Nouri, and Dorgu could signal a strategic rebuild under Amorim, aimed at addressing critical weaknesses in the squad.
