Marcus Rashford is a player "who brings a lot" says Barcelona's sporting director who has been very happy with his performances since moving from
Manchester United. The Catalan club are all set now to buy
Rashford this summer in a £28million deal after bringing him in on a loan with an option to buy for a year.
And they have been delighted with his adaptation and performances where he has often been an impact player off the bench.
For United fans they will also notice the difference as Rashford appeared to be going through the paces at times in his final few years at Old Trafford.
When Barca's sporting director Deco was asked whether the club was happy with the impact of Rashford he replied: "Yes, for sure. I believe it is not easy to come here. He is a footballer who has played at a very high level, with enormous demands at a club like Manchester United.
"After that, he was at Aston Villa for six months, where he did a very good job. In fact, if Aston Villa could have, they would have kept him; I know this because I have spoken with people there.
"But he only wanted to come to Barça, and that is something very positive."
And Deco pointed to the way that Rashford has worked hard as well as taking a salary cut.
He continued: "We have been able to secure a loan. The fact that he came here, lowering his salary to do so, is a clear demonstration that he really wanted to come, and we are very happy with that. He is a player who brings us a lot."
There is only some slight doubt about his transfer with club elections coming up at Barca and if a new board takes over then possibly they would take a different decision.
But currently the present board led by president Joan Laporta is set to win with the team doing well and even if he loses the election it would be a surprise if another candidate doesn't activate the option to buy on Rashford.
