Bryan Mbeumo has emerged as a top attacking target for
Manchester United, and the Brentford star is reportedly keen on making the switch to Old Trafford this summer.
According to
The Times, the 25-year-old Cameroonian forward is open to the move, with sources suggesting he’s excited by the opportunity to join a club undergoing a major transformation under Rúben Amorim.
Mbeumo enjoyed a standout 2024/25 campaign, scoring 20 goals in the Premier League and providing 7 assists, making him one of the most consistent wide forwards in the division.
United are looking to add reliable end product and tactical discipline to their front line, especially as Jadon Sancho, Antony, and Marcus Rashford are all up for sale. Mbeumo’s experience, pressing intensity, and versatility across the front three make him a strong fit for Amorim’s 3-4-3 system.
“Mbeumo fits the profile perfectly — he presses relentlessly, carries the ball well, and makes smart decisions in the final third,” said one source close to United’s recruitment team.
Brentford, however, are demanding at least £60 million, and are prepared to hold out for that figure. The Bees are under no pressure to sell, with Mbeumo still under contract until 2027, but they are aware of the player’s interest in taking the next step in his career.
United face competition from Arsenal and Newcastle, but insiders believe the player prefers a move to Old Trafford, where he is expected to be given a prominent role as part of Amorim’s reshaped front line — likely partnering new signing Matheus Cunha and young forward Alejandro Garnacho, should he stay.
“We’re looking for hungry players who are tactically disciplined and ready to compete,” Amorim said this week. “Every signing must fit the system.”
With talks ongoing, United are exploring structured payment options to meet Brentford’s valuation while staying within financial fair play limits. If a deal is finalised in the coming weeks, Mbeumo could become United’s second major signing of the summer window.
