Shea Lacey shares a close similarity to former Premier league star Emre and was always touted for the top in Manchester United youth tournaments, says Nicky Butt.
The 18-year-old came on for his debut for the Reds against Aston Villa along with Jack Fletcher and were a positive in an otherwise disappointing defeat.
And Butt now says with his strong left-foot and "skippy" style he reminds him of Emre while Scholes compared him to Phil Foden at Manchester City.
I'll tell you who he reminds me of Shea Lacey because he was with Ruben my son, and Jack and Tyler (Fletcher) were all the same age - they all came through together although Jack and Tyler were at City but they knew each other as kids," started Butt.
"He reminds me of Emre, remember Emre? Who was a lot more chubby."
And Scholes jumped in: "At Newcastle", before Butt continues: "And he was at Galatasaray, unbelievable left foot. Very skippy, he's like that Shea, he's really skippy as opposed to a glider.
"When he was a kid, he used to play in all these tournaments, like all over the world, all the ones you go to when he was eight, nine, 10, 11, it was always like, 'Wow, he's gonna be a top, top player'. He's had a lot of injuries over the last few years."
While Scholes told The Good, The Bad and The Football: "I just thought every time I saw him Phil Foden." He added: "I remember seeing him three or four years ago ... and I thought he was exactly like Phil Foden.
"I think United have got a young Phil Foden there. He's only 18, he's only 18 now, I thought he was a bit older than that because I remember seeing that long ago.
"But again, he's probably very similar to Foden but he needs to develop a little bit more and he will be, I think he'll be some player."
