Juventus are accelerating their efforts to sign Jadon Sancho from Manchester United, with Fabrizio Romano confirming that a major sale is now “on”.
Juventus are in the midst of overhauling their attack, having already secured Nicolas Gonzalez from Fiorentina and reached a full agreement with Jonathan David, who is set to undergo medical tests before signing a long-term contract.
With these deals nearly finalized, Juventus have now turned their attention to Sancho as the final piece of their attacking rebuild.
United are eager to offload Sancho on a permanent basis and have set an asking price of £25 million. Juventus, according to Metro, are prepared to meet this valuation, and a key breakthrough has come with Sancho reportedly agreeing to take a pay cut to facilitate the move.
This is particularly significant because a previous permanent move to Chelsea collapsed due to Sancho’s refusal to lower his wage demands.
With Sancho now willing to reduce his salary, all the main obstacles to a deal have been removed, paving the way for Juventus to make their move.
Romano reports that after sealing the Jonathan David deal, Juventus have made renewed contact with both Manchester United and Sancho’s representatives this week to discuss the conditions of a transfer.
Fenerbahce, previously linked, are now out of the race, and Juventus are the clear frontrunners. Additionally, more clubs have reached out to Sancho’s camp, but Juventus are pushing hardest for a deal.
There have also been discussions about a possible swap deal, with Juventus offering up to three players—Douglas Luiz, Dusan Vlahovic, and Timothy Weah—as part of negotiations.
However, the main stumbling block throughout has been Sancho’s salary, not United’s asking price.
With the wage issue now close to resolution, Juventus are expected to press ahead with a permanent transfer rather than a loan or swap arrangement.
This sale is crucial for United, who need to raise funds for further signings after already securing Matheus Cunha and pursuing Bryan Mbeumo.
The club’s summer budget is tight after missing out on European football, so moving Sancho off the wage bill and recouping a transfer fee is a priority as they reshape the squad under Ruben Amorim.
