Senne Lammens has told how he is not a "city person" and is now enjoying life "going for walks" and "playing golf".
The
Belgian shot-stopper has come into the United side and looked composed beyond his 23 years as he has asserted himself. His introduction to the team has coincided with an upturn in form.
Goalkeeper was a problem position last season with
Andre Onana and Altay Bayındır both looking weak and then there was debate whether Lammens was the right choice to replace them in goal with his little experience.
And now Lammens says how he has settled into life in the UK, and is enjoying living in the wealthy Greater Manchester suburb of Hale.
"The first two weeks I was in the city center in a hotel. To be honest I'm not really a city person. I'm more of an outside (person), I like more nature and being relaxed," Lammens told MUTV.
"So now I'm in Hale. So it's been really nice there as well to live there and just like coming home from training after a hard day just relaxing and going for a walk or something.
"I also liked to play golf in Belgium. So I started here as well now a little bit to relax, also a little bit more in the mind and to just switch off a little bit and also with some teammates sometimes."
He clearly works hard on his mental approach which includes writing a diary to explain his feelings and avoid too much emotion.
Lammens said: "I like to do journal a lot as well, to be honest, writing down a little bit after every game.
"So it makes it easier on the mind as well to not always think too much after games. Just ride it down and then it's out of the head a little bit."
