Manchester United goalkeeper Senne Lammens says how he likes to do a "journal" which helps him keep relaxed.
Lammens has come into the United side and looked composed beyond his 23 years as he has asserted himself despite the tough environment with the team underperforming.
Goalkeeper was a problem position last season with Andre Onana and Altay Bayındır both looking weak and then there was debate whether Lammens was the right choice to replace them in goal with his little experience.
When asked about how he keeps his composure he said: "As a young goalkeeper I think it's difficult.
"I wasn't always the best one in my age group and I also made a lot of mistakes and I think as a young goalkeeper it's really difficult sometimes to get over those mistakes."
And Lammens says that following a regular routine helps to build confidence.
He continued: "But then you just keep working on it and it's also like confidence doing the work, the prep before the game, every day in training and just having the confidence to do it in the game as well.
"It's nothing different than in training. I think also having the same prep every time for a game, so you feel at ease and the same warming up, the same lead up to a game.
"So every game is quite the same, even though every game is different during it. So just having that mindset a little bit. I did do some psychology work when I was growing up, but now I don't really need it anymore."
He clearly works hard on his mental approach which includes writing a diary to explain his feelings and avoid too much emotion.
Lammens told ManUtd.com: "I think I help myself (doing it). I like to do journal a lot as well, to be honest, writing down a little bit after every game.
"So it makes it easier on the mind as well to not always think too much after games. Just ride it down and then it's out of the head a little bit."
