Interest in Atalanta star Ederson remains high among Premier League clubs, with fresh talks expected in the coming weeks between his representatives and potential suitors.
Both
Manchester United and Manchester City see the Brazilian midfielder as a valuable addition for the summer, but United are particularly keen, as they prepare to offload Christian Eriksen and
Casemiro securing Ederson won’t be easy, with transfer fees and salary demands posing challenges.
Liverpool have also expressed interest and inquired about the player, but for now, they remain on the sidelines, prioritizing Frenkie de Jong and Angelo Stiller.
Atalanta Open to Selling for €60m
Initially, Atalanta were unwilling to entertain offers for Ederson, but they are now more open to selling him at the end of the season—partly to satisfy the player's desire for a Premier League move.
The Italian club has set his price at €60m (£49m/$62m) and will listen to offers from interested clubs. While Ederson is eager to play in England, he has no specific preference for a particular club.
With United, City, and Liverpool all monitoring his situation, the race for Ederson is officially open.
Casemiro Set for an Early Exit Amid Flamengo Links
Meanwhile, United are pushing ahead with plans to offload Casemiro, with reports indicating the club has greenlit a loan exit for the high-earning midfielder.
The 32-year-old joined United for £70m from Real Madrid, making an immediate impact in his first season. However, his form has since deteriorated, with manager Ruben Amorim previously stating that he struggles to keep up with the Premier League’s intensity.
Although United explored offloading Casemiro in January, they received little concrete interest. Now, with the Brazilian transfer window open until February 28, journalist Jorge Nicola reports that Flamengo are in talks to bring Casemiro back to Brazil, meaning United could offload him far earlier than expected.
Antony’s Bright Start at Betis Won’t Revive His United Career
Elsewhere, Antony has hit the ground running at Real Betis, impressing in his early performances. However, sources close to Old Trafford insist the winger has no future at United, with the club prepared to part ways permanently.
Antony is one of several out-of-favor players unlikely to be reintegrated into Amorim’s squad, as United continue their major squad overhaul ahead of the 2024/25 season.
