Casemiro gives away possible 'tactical plan' for Man Utd's FA Cup clash with Leicester

Casemiro has hinted at his potential involvement in Manchester United’s FA Cup fourth-round tie against Leicester City on Friday night, as Ruben Amorim’s side look to keep their European hopes alive.

With United languishing in 13th place in the Premier League, their chances of securing European football via the league remain slim, making the Europa League and FA Cup their most realistic pathways to continental competition next season.

Amorim is expected to name a strong starting XI against Leicester, given United’s next league fixture against Tottenham isn’t until the following Sunday.

This could see new signing Patrick Dorgu make his debut, while Ayden Heaven may feature in the matchday squad.

However, there is also room for fringe players to get valuable minutes, with Casemiro among those who could benefit.

The Brazilian midfielder, who played 18 minutes in the Europa League win over FCSB, has not featured in English competition since United’s 2-0 defeat to Newcastle.

But ahead of Friday’s fixture, Casemiro shared a pre-match graphic preview of the game on his Instagram story, a move that often signals potential involvement in the squad.

Should Casemiro start, it could lead to a tactical reshuffle, with Bruno Fernandes potentially pushed into a more advanced role in the attacking setup.

After the failed experiment of playing Kobbie Mainoo as a false nine against Crystal Palace, Amorim is expected to alter his attacking approach for Leicester’s visit.

The Portuguese coach is under pressure to find a more effective attacking balance, and Casemiro’s presence in midfield could allow for greater fluidity further forward.

With United desperate to progress in the FA Cup, all eyes will be on Amorim’s selection as he balances squad rotation with the need for a strong performance at Old Trafford.

And so it could mean that either Rasmus Hojlund or Joshua Zirkzee return to the starting line up for the game.
