Tensions at Manchester United have reached a boiling point between manager Rúben Amorim and rising star Alejandro Garnacho.
It is claimed that Amorim lashed out at the Argentine winger during a recent internal meeting and advised him to leave the club this summer.
Following United’s disappointing Europa League final defeat and ongoing dressing room discontent, Amorim has reportedly begun a brutally honest review of his squad, and Garnacho appears to have fallen out of favour.
Sources cited by Marca suggest that Amorim told Garnacho directly: “You'd better prey you find a club that wants you.”
This blunt statement is said to have come after a string of behind-the-scenes disagreements.
The young winger, who made 58 appearances this season, is believed to be unhappy with recent substitutions — most notably in the Europa League final — and his changing role in Amorim’s tactical system.
The conflict escalated further when Garnacho liked a social media post criticising Amorim’s decisions, an act the manager reportedly interpreted as a public challenge to his authority.
Despite being one of United’s most productive players this season, Garnacho’s attitude, tactical discipline, and alleged growing arrogance have frustrated the Portuguese coach.
Amorim, keen to build a tighter, more cohesive squad for the 2025/26 campaign, is not afraid to cut loose even the most high-profile names if they don’t fit the collective ethos.
“Amorim wants a smaller, hungrier group,” a club insider said. “No exceptions — if you don’t buy in, you’re out.”
Clubs such as Atlético Madrid, Napoli, and Chelsea are reportedly monitoring the situation closely, with Manchester United expected to demand around £60–70 million for Garnacho should he be made available.
As of now, neither the club nor the player has officially commented. But with Amorim making it clear that reputations won’t protect anyone, Garnacho’s future at Old Trafford looks increasingly uncertain
