Ruben Amorim, the manager of Man United has been harshly critiqued for leaving out his in-form players, including star player Marcus Rashford, ahead of their match against Arsenal.
Despite Rashford's impressive performance and two goals against Everton, Amorim made the unexpected decision to drop him for the match against Arsenal.
He also made additional changes, bringing in Harry Maguire, Manuel Ugarte, Tyrell Malacia, Alejandro Garnacho, Mason Mount and Rasmus Hojlund to the starting XI.

Gambling with player rotation

Clinton Morrison, speaking on Sky Sports Soccer Special, labeled Amorim's decisions as 'ridiculous', pointing out the risk of altering a team that recently thrashed Everton.
Morrison underlined the uncertainty amongst the players, suggesting some might feel 'on trial' following the changes.
There are concerns that the changes could leave Man United vulnerable in defence and without key outlets in attack against Arsenal.
These decisions could potentially affect player morale, more so for the players who were dropped despite their impressive performance against Everton.

Amorim under scrutiny

This bold move on Amorim's part places him under scrutiny early in his tenure. There are apprehensions about the outcome of the match against Arsenal and potential fallout if results do not meet expectations.
United showed promising moments in the first half at the Emirates but they lacked any real threat in attack and once again defensive mistakes cost them with two poor goals to concede from corners.
Despite plenty of height at the back with Harry Maguire, Matthijs De Ligt and Noussair Mazraoui they were badly exposed. Rashford did come on for the last 30 minutes but he was unable to make any impact on the team.
For Amorim it will be an eye opener on all the work that still needs to be done at the club after a couple of promising matches first in the Europa League and then against Everton last Sunday.
