Bruno Fernandes' act showing shows how important Garnacho is to Man Utd side

Bruno Fernandes was full of praise for Alejandro Garnacho as Manchester United, down to ten men, triumphed over Arsenal.

The Red Devils secured their place in the fourth round with a tense victory at the Emirates Stadium.

Fernandes opened the scoring for United, thanks to a clever assist from Garnacho. However, the match took a challenging turn after Diogo Dalot was sent off for two yellow cards, allowing Gabriel Magalhães to equalize for Arsenal.

Despite Bayindir’s standout performance, Fernandes made a point to highlight Garnacho’s contribution.

After the young forward set him up for the opener, Fernandes embraced him and pointed to him in front of the away fans, signaling his appreciation.

Fernandes has previously shown his support for Garnacho, notably encouraging him to celebrate more confidently after scoring against Leicester earlier this season.

Speaking about the moment, Fernandes said: "Garnacho scored a banger but didn't celebrate like he should because he thinks he has lost faith from some fans.

"I told him people will always moan, but lots of people like you and enjoy what you do. I told him to celebrate—it was something special. He is a special player, and we have difference-makers. They are the ones who win us games."

Fernandes’ latest gesture comes amid uncertainty surrounding Garnacho’s future at United.

The 20-year-old winger has attracted interest from several European giants, including Atletico Madrid and Napoli. The Serie A champions reportedly see him as a potential replacement for Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, who is linked with PSG and Liverpool.

Reports suggest Napoli could bid around €50 million (£42 million) for Garnacho, who is under contract at Old Trafford until 2028.

Despite the speculation, manager Ruben Amorim has recently praised the young forward, saying: "I really love my players and want to keep them, especially the talented ones. I’m really happy with Kobbie [Mainoo], and it’s the same with Garna [Garnacho]."

Garnacho has made 29 appearances for United this season, contributing eight goals and four assists.

As speculation about his future continues, United fans will hope the club can hold onto the talented winger, whose influence on the pitch is becoming increasingly evident.
