Napoli are eyeing Manchester United winger Alejandro Garnacho as a potential replacement for Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, who is expected to join Paris Saint-Germain.
Former Tottenham and Chelsea boss Antonio Conte, now in charge at Napoli, is keen to bring in Garnacho to fill the void left by their star player.
According to Sport Italia, Manchester United have set a £42 million price tag for the 20-year-old, who has struggled for game time under new manager Ruben Amorim.
Napoli’s sporting director Giovanni Manna is said to be aligned with Conte’s vision, and the club is already working on securing the transfer.
If Napoli meet United’s valuation, Garnacho could soon be making the move to Serie A, offering him a fresh start and a chance to thrive under Conte’s management.
The next few days will be decisive in finalizing all the details of the negotiation between Napoli and PSG for Kvaratskhelia.
During a press conference yesterday, Antonio Conte emphasized that the Georgian player has been firm in his request to leave the Neapolitan club to join another project, in this case, PSG.
Napoli's asking price is around €90 million, but the negotiations between the two clubs are well underway despite a significant gap in valuation between the two sides.
Garnacho has been restricted to a bit-part role under new boss Ruben Amorim and United would consider cashing in on their academy product to help balance PSR restrictions.
Atletico Madrid are another club which has been linked to Garnacho who was a youth player at Atleti before moving to Old Trafford.
Garnacho, who is contracted until 2028, has seen his game time reduced significantly in recent weeks after being dropped from the squad for the 2-1 derby win at Manchester City last month.
The winger has amassed just 109 minutes of action over United’s five festive fixtures having been utilised primarily from the bench.
