Harry Maguire branded Kai Havertz a "cheating scumbag" following a controversial penalty decision during Manchester United's FA Cup clash with Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium.
The heated moment unfolded 20 minutes from time with the score locked at 1-1. Havertz dribbled into the box and appeared to go down after minimal contact with Maguire, prompting the referee to point to the spot.
Without VAR available in the third round, the decision stood, despite Maguire’s protests of innocence.
The United defender passionately argued with the referee before turning his frustrations toward Havertz, accusing the Arsenal forward of diving.
The heated exchange sparked a scuffle between players from both sides, with verbal clashes escalating into a full-blown brawl. Manuel Ugarte also became involved, tangling with Havertz as tempers boiled over.

Chaos Erupts Amid Dalot's Dismissal

Earlier in the game, Diogo Dalot’s dismissal added to United’s struggles. Already on a yellow card, Dalot launched into a reckless challenge, missing the ball entirely and leaving the referee no choice but to brandish a red card.
The fiery encounter highlighted the stakes for both clubs. Manchester United manager Ruben Amorim is desperate to salvage silverware from a challenging season, while Arsenal’s Mikel Arteta faces mounting pressure to end his own trophy drought.
Despite the drama and tension, the match eventually proceeded to a penalty shootout, where Manchester United emerged victorious, advancing to the fourth round of the FA Cup.
Ex-Newcastle star Alan Shearer was full of praise for Bayindir and his save but believed that the penalty should not have been given in the first place. Speaking on BBC Sport, he said: "Altay Bayindir gets down really, really quickly. He gets a good strong hand to it. I thought the penalty was a bit harsh, I really did."
Odegaard's miss left the scores at 1-1 after goals from Bruno Fernandes and Gabriel Magalhaes. Maguire's fury was not the only incident during the game. United defender Diogo Dalot was sent off after two bookable offences - the second for a mistimed challenge on Mikel Merino.
Declan Rice had an excellent chance to win the game but he was also denied by Bayindir. And Shearer remained impressed. He added: "Declan Rice should score, it's a complete free header. Wonderful save. It should be in the back of the net. Big, big opportunity. He should guide that across him and put more power behind it."
