Manchester United are reportedly keeping a close eye on
Callum Hudson-Odoi, with the Nottingham Forest winger’s contract negotiations stalling as he enters the final year of his current deal.
According to
The Sun,
United scouts have been tracking Hudson-Odoi’s performances throughout the 2024–25 season and are impressed by his resurgence since leaving Chelsea permanently last summer.
The 24-year-old has tallied 5 goals and 3 assists in 29 Premier League appearances, often shining in a struggling Forest side.
Hudson-Odoi joined Forest for just £3 million after failing to break into Mauricio Pochettino’s plans at Stamford Bridge.
Since then, he has rediscovered form, fitness, and confidence — showing flashes of the explosive winger once touted as a future England regular, as ManUtdDaily has previously reported.
His ability to operate on both flanks and take on defenders one-v-one fits the profile United boss Ruben Amorim is targeting as part of a wider attacking rebuild.
Amorim is reportedly pushing for value-for-money signings, and Hudson-Odoi, with just over a year left on his contract, could be available at a cut-price fee.
Sources suggest United have made initial inquiries and are monitoring whether Forest are open to selling should contract talks break down completely.
A source close to the player told The Sun: “Callum feels at home at Forest and would be happy to stay, but he wants to know the club’s ambitions. If the right opportunity came along, he would consider his options.”
With United set to move on from underperforming wide players like Antony and Jadon Sancho, Hudson-Odoi could emerge as a low-risk, high-upside alternative — particularly if Financial Fair Play restrictions limit big-money deals.
Forest boss Nuno Espírito Santo has publicly praised Hudson-Odoi’s impact and hopes to keep him, but much may depend on Forest’s survival in the Premier League and whether they can meet the winger’s contract expectations.
If United choose to act on their interest, they may need to move quickly — several other Premier League clubs and one Bundesliga side are also said to be monitoring the situation.
