A Manchester United director is continuing to negotiate with Napoli counterparts in Milan over Alejandro Garnacho.
Matt Hargreaves has concluded another day of meetings in Milan with Napoli sporting director Giovanni Manna.
Talks focused on Garnacho, though a significant economic gap remains between the two clubs.
Discussions around left-back Patrick Dorgu, as previously reported, will hinge heavily on the player’s own decision.
The negotiations are expected to continue in the coming days, though not necessarily in person.
Napoli remains hopeful of convincing Manchester United to lower their financial demands for Garnacho, who is seen as a potential replacement for Khvicha Kvaratskhelia under Antonio Conte.
Napoli has reportedly offered €45 million for the 2004-born Argentine-Spaniard, while United is holding firm at around €55 million.

Exploring Alternatives

Garnacho isn’t Napoli’s only target. The Campania club is actively exploring alternatives to avoid being left unprepared should talks with United stall.
Discussions with Borussia Dortmund have been reopened to evaluate the possibility of signing Karim Adeyemi.
With the transfer window closing soon, Napoli will aim to accelerate negotiations for both Garnacho and Adeyemi as they look to bolster their squad.
United are reportedly desperate to part ways with Casemiro due to his substantial wage demands.
The Brazilian midfielder was initially the club’s third-choice option when signed two years ago, behind Frenkie de Jong and Adrien Rabiot.
The Red Devils splashed out £70 million (£60m plus £10m in add-ons) for Casemiro, despite him being 30 at the time, and handed him a lucrative four-year deal worth £350,000 per week.
While he made a strong start to life at Old Trafford, his form has since declined significantly, leaving United eager to find an exit route.

A Transfer That Puzzles New Ownership

According to transfer insider Fraser Fletcher, Sir Jim Ratcliffe and his INEOS team have been baffled by the decision to invest so heavily in an ageing player.
The lengthy contract awarded to Casemiro has also raised questions within the new ownership group.
Caught Offside has labeled Casemiro’s signing a “big mistake” and reports that United have set a £30 million price tag for the 31-year-old.
However, due to a lack of interest, United may be forced to lower their demands.

Limited Interest and Potential Exit Routes

One possible destination, Besiktas, was recently floated, but the Turkish club has reportedly ruled out a move.
This leaves Saudi Arabia’s Pro League as the most viable option.
Al-Nassr, where Casemiro could reunite with former teammate Cristiano Ronaldo, has shown “concrete interest,” but any deal would require United to lower their asking price and for Casemiro to take a pay cut.
The situation highlights how far the player’s stock has fallen, as even the Saudi Pro League—known for offering massive salaries—expects Casemiro to accept reduced wages.
This lack of widespread interest underscores the challenges United face in moving on a player who was once a five-time Champions League winner but now finds himself struggling to maintain his value in the transfer market.
