Amad Diallo's stunning performance in
Manchester United's dramatic 2-1 victory over Manchester City has left pundits and fans alike in awe.
The
young Ivorian winger was the hero of the hour, winning a penalty and then scoring to secure a memorable win for the Red Devils.
Henry was particularly impressed with Amad's technical ability and vision at the way he controlled the ball coming over his head.
"He started his run really early, but he checks and makes sure that he wasn't going to be offside," said Henry.
"He was never going to be offside, because Ruben Dias was covering, but he does something very important, and this is why I always talk about.
"When that ball goes over his head, if you can scan back, it's very important [that he doesn't] carry on looking at the ball. If he looks at the ball, he will never get it.
"At one point, you will see, he looks at the ball, but he stops looking at it and he looks where the ball is going to bounce. That's the only way he can get it. He knows he will get it only after the bounce, so doesn't look anymore."
Jamie Carragher was equally impressed, highlighting Amad's composure and skill in the final moments of the game.
"He's in the air there with his other foot," he analyzed. "To control that at the tip of the boot when he's actually in mid-air... This is one of the best pieces of skill you will probably see, certainly this season, to make the run and follow the ball."
Amad's performance has not only silenced his critics but has also put him firmly in the spotlight as one of the most exciting young talents in European football. With his technical ability, pace, and eye for goal, Amad has the potential to become a world-class player.
As United look to rebuild under new manager Ruben Amorim, Amad's emergence as a key player could be crucial to their success.
The Ivorian's performance against City has shown that he has the talent and the mentality to make a significant impact at the highest level.
