Marcus Rashford and Joshua Zirkzee both hit doubles as United ripped Everton apart in a 4-0 at Old Trafford.
Rubem Amorim got his first Premier League win in style as the floodgates opened in the Everton rearguard as an increased tempo from United caused them plenty of problems.
It was a rare sight for fans to sit back and watch United able to sit on a comfortable lead and not realistically fear a comeback from Everton. We have to go back to 2021 when United won 6-2 against Leeds for when they last scored four in a match.
Amad leading the charge
Braces from Marcus Rashford and Zirkzee secured all the points but it was Amad Diallo who was the instigator of the danger.
Rashford brought the breakthrough on the 34th minute, his shot from the edge of the box taking a deflection off Jarrad Branthwaite. Shortly after, Zirkzee capitalized on another opening, solidifying United's lead.
Diallo was on hand to set up Rashford at the start of the second half and Zirkzee also landed another blow to Everton, tapping in Diallo's square ball to complete his brace for the day.
The match was a positive sign for Rashford who has been struggling for form but now has three goals from the last two Premier League games thanks to better service.
Under Amorim's 3-4-3 formation, the 22-year-old Amad has shown great promise, particularly in the Everton match where he recorded two assists. His ability to press the opponent's backline, coupled with his spot-on positioning, have been instrumental in his recent successes.
Zirkzee shines
Joshua Zirkzee's brace against Everton marked his first goals since August, and his performance suggests that he is adapting well to the system under Amorim.
If Amorim can continue to leverage Zirkzee's abilities in linking up play, it could add a formidable degree of unpredictability to United's attack.
While it was indeed a decisive win for United, Everton's opportunities in the first half highlighted some areas of improvement for Amorim's side.
Nevertheless, United's performance, especially their ability to control most of the game, leaves them in a strong position going forward in the Premier League.
