Manchester United are lining up a possible swap deal by bringing in Randal Kolo Muani from Paris Saint-Germain for Marcus Rashford.
The French forward, who joined PSG from Eintracht Frankfurt for £64.2 million plus add-ons in September 2023, has struggled for game time, starting only three Ligue 1 matches this season.
He was also excluded from PSG’s squad for their match against Monaco on Wednesday.
PSG manager Luis Enrique recently hinted at Kolo Muani's potential departure.
He said: "I could speak about it, but I won’t because my decisions say it all, even if, as I have said, all of my decisions can be changed."
Now, Fabrizio Romano reports that a January exit for Kolo Muani is "almost guaranteed."
United, searching for solutions to their lackluster attacking form, may capitalize on the opportunity to sign the 26-year-old forward.
Known for his pace, dribbling, and finishing, Kolo Muani could offer a new dimension to United's frontline.
The Red Devils have been linked with him in the past, and his availability could reignite their interest.
And a swap deal would work well with Rashford with the club keen to offload him in January.
Rashford’s candid remarks earlier this week have only added to the speculation.
"For me, personally, I think I'm ready for a new challenge and the next steps," Rashford told The Times.
"When I leave it's going to be 'no hard feelings'. You're not going to have any negative comments from me about Manchester United.
"That’s me as a person. If I know that a situation is already bad, I’m not going to make it worse.
"I’ve seen how other players have left in the past, and I don’t want to be that person. When I leave, I’ll make a statement, and it will be from me."
PSG had previously pursued Rashford at the end of the 2022/23 season before he opted to stay at United and signed a new long-term contract.
His recent comments followed his omission from United’s squad for the Manchester derby last weekend.
Manager Ruben Amorim also excluded Rashford from the squad that travelled to face Tottenham in the Carabao Cup, leaving fans wondering if he will be involved in Sunday’s Premier League clash with Bournemouth.
With both players potentially on the move, January could see significant changes involving Rashford and Kolo Muani, potentially altering the dynamics for United and PSG.
