A Matheus Cunha gave
Manchester United a draw in a game where they lacked a cutting edge in attack and had to hang on at stages against Leeds.
Leeds took the lead out of nowhere. Some slack United defending allowed Brenden Aaronson to latch on to a Pascal Struijk clearance and finish past
Senne Lammens.
United were unfortunate to be behind on the balance of play and found an equaliser within three minutes.
Joshua Zirkzee's pass sent Cunha away and he finished smartly.
Here are how the players rated at Elland Road:
Senne Lammens:
Could possibly have done better for the goal but two smart second-half saves from Gudmundsson and Okafor and his distribution was sound under pressure.6
Leny Yoro:
Couple of nervy moments as we have come to expect. Can be too easy to get in behind down the right side at the moment. 6
Ayden Heaven:
One well-timed tackle in the box when at first it had looked a reckless move. Good in possession but caught napping for the goal. 6
Lisandro Martinez:
Passing was good and showed plenty of aggression when defending. Back on the left of the back three and clearly more suited to that role. 7
Diogo Dalot:
Some slack moments in possession and too casual in giving it away for the first goal. Right flank exposed at times. 6
Manuel Ugarte:
One of his best games of the season, with conditions to suit. Didn't do loads in possession but was good without the ball and set a really combative tone. 7
Casemiro:
Better on the ball than Ugarte and also competed well. Midfield looked like a potential weakness for United but it didn't really work out that way. 7
Luke Shaw:
Corners were dangerous and made one excellent defensive header. Back in a position he hasn't played for several years but put up a good showing. 7
Patrick Dorgu:
Being moved about all over the place at the moment and not helping him. Screwed one first-half chance just wide. 6
Matheus Cunha:
United's best player. Carried the fight in the first and clearly the best player on the pitch. Deserved his goal and looked lively. 8
Benjamin Sesko:
Amorim on his case over hold-up play early on. Involved in the goal but poor centre-forward play to be offside for a bad header and then missed a good chance to win it. 5
Substitutes
Joshua Zirkzee:
A rare Amorim sub that showed intent and it paid off. Good ball to set up Cunha for the equalising goal and had some good moments as a No.10. 7
Subs not used: Bayindir, Fredricson, Kukonki, Malacia, Mantato, J. Fletcher, T. Fletcher, Lacey.
