Joshua Zirkzee and
Mason Mount both struck in a much-improved second half performance as
Manchester United beat Crystal Palace 2-1.
United needed to respond to a shocking defeat against Everton at the beginning of the week and they secured an important win on the road.
Jean-Philippe Mateta opened the scoring in the 36th minute from the penalty spot. Leny Yoro clumsily brought the forward to the ground and Mateta fired Palace into a well-deserved lead.
United equalised in the second half through
Zirkzee before Mount scored the winner.
Here are how United's players rated at Selhurst Park:
Senne Lammens
Made a few saves you would expect him to make in the first half, but he was the pick of a bad bunch in the opening 45 minutes. 6
Leny Yoro
Had another bad game. Yoro got away with a blunder when Mateta failed to finish and appeared to redeem himself with an important block, but he made a clumsy challenge to concede the penalty. 4
Matthijs de Ligt
Mateta is a strong centre-forward and asked questions of De Ligt from the first whistle, winning the battle and pulling him out of position. Looked more comfortable in the second half. 6
Luke Shaw
Shaw made a great block to deny Palace a two-goal advantage just before half-time. Not much attacking threat came down his side all afternoon, which was a compliment from the hosts. Booked for a professional foul. 6
Amad
Was relocated to right-wing back, where he has looked comfortable, but he wasn't involved with the intricate play he is capable of orchestrating down that side. Could have done better. 5
Casemiro
Amorim could not believe that Casemiro did not fire United into the lead just a minute into the match. The Brazilian wasted a header from a free-kick, but improved after a shaky start. 5
Fernandes is world-class on the ball but his defensive play often leaves United exposed. He was responsible for both of United's assists from set-piece routines but also put pressure on the defence with sloppy clearances and gave the ball away cheaply. 7
Diogo Dalot
Dalot was recalled by default but made a difference with his long throw-ins, although it would have been difficult to have been a downgrade on Patrick Dorgu after his display against Everton. 7
Bryan Mbeumo
Mbeumo was untouchable before the international break, but he hasn't returned with as much zest. He still worked hard down the right, but he is capable of more in the final third. 5
Mason Mount
Made his first start since playing a key role in the win against Liverpool at Anfield. His performance was similar - hard working and industrious, but there was a key difference: he scored. 8
Joshua Zirkzee
Offered nothing in the first half, following up a good touch with a bad one, but equalised with a brilliant finish. Zirkzee's half-volley had to be powerful to beat the goalkeeper - and it was. 7
Subs
Noussair Mazraoui
He was an improvement on Yoro. 6
Lisandro Martinez
Fine on his appearance since February. 6
