Ruben Amorim admits that
Patrick Dorgu is struggling at
Manchester United and says "you can feel the anxiety every time he touches the ball".
Dorgu joined United last January but has so far not been able to deliver the quality that the team needs down the left wing.
Crucial to
Amorim's system are the wingbacks and he has not been able to provide quality crosses into the box on a regular basis. And against Everton he flashed at a chance when well positioned in the box.
Amorim has opted to alternate between Dorgu and Diogo Dalot for the left wingback roll in recent matches with neither excelling.
"What I feel when I see them training, they are doing so much better than in games," Amorim told a press conference ahead of the clash with Crystal Palace.
"Then Patrick when I see him playing for national team, he scored a great goal against Ireland.(sic) The decision that he made under pressure was completely different than the decision that he is making in our team.
"So I just need to understand the context and try to help them. I think they are far from at their best, and they know it, like a lot of players in our team, like myself.
"So I just look at them and I think they have so much more to give. So let's see this week if we improve that. I think it's the decision (making), it needs to be calmer playing the game.
"You can feel the anxiety every time Patrick touched the ball. I can feel the anxiety. And I remember the shot against Everton. That was easier than the decision that he had to make against (....) Scotland and there he has a great decision.
"And I saw it when he played in Italy. But again, here is different and sometimes the pressure is hard for them in the beginning, but he has time to improve."
