Bruno Fernandes has reportedly been given a firm deadline by Saudi Pro League club Al-Hilal to decide whether he will accept a move away from
Manchester United this summer.
According to reports from
Sports Mole, Al-Hilal — who are keen to strengthen their midfield with a marquee European signing — have made
Fernandes a top priority and are prepared to offer a huge salary package to tempt the Portuguese star.
However, with United still in the hunt for a Europa League trophy and potentially a route back into the Champions League, Fernandes has asked for time to assess the situation.
The Saudi giants are understood to be frustrated by the delay and have now issued a deadline, giving Fernandes a matter of weeks to decide on his future. The deal reportedly includes a three-year contract worth over £40 million, which would make him one of the highest-paid players in the world.
Fernandes, who has 19 goals and 18 assists this season, remains United’s most consistent performer and is widely regarded as the heart of the team. Despite United’s poor league campaign, the 29-year-old has led by example on and off the pitch.
However, speculation around his future has intensified, especially after it was revealed that several Premier League and European clubs — as well as top Saudi sides — are monitoring his situation.
United boss Ruben Amorim has made it clear he wants to keep Fernandes, stating last week:
"He’s not going anywhere, because I’ve already told him."
Yet with Financial Fair Play concerns looming, United may be tempted to cash in if a significant offer arrives — especially if they fail to win the Europa League final against Tottenham on May 21.
Whether Fernandes stays at Old Trafford or heads for a blockbuster move abroad could be one of the defining stories of United’s summer.
