Manchester United and Arsenal are both being linked with a move for Juventus striker Dusan Vlahovic, who is set to be available for a cut price deal.
The 25-year-old Serbian international, once a top target for Arsenal and a player
United have monitored closely, has just one year left on his contract and Juventus are now open to selling him for as little as £20–25 million—far less than the £66 million they paid to sign him from Fiorentina in 2022.
Vlahovic scored 15 goals and provided five assists in 41 appearances last season for Juventus, but his future in Turin is uncertain after failing to agree on a contract extension.
Juventus have reportedly ended negotiations with the striker, who is unwilling to accept a pay cut from his current £314,000-a-week salary, reported the
Express. As a result, his representatives are actively offering him to Premier League clubs, with
Manchester United considered a preferred destination by the player himself.
United, who are still searching for a reliable centre-forward after missing out on Liam Delap to Chelsea and with other targets like Viktor Gyokeres proving expensive, see Vlahovic as a potentially shrewd addition—especially at a cut-price fee.
Manager Ruben Amorim is said to have been interested in signing Vlahovic as far back as January, and the striker is reportedly “confident” he can solve United’s goalscoring problems and prove himself in England.
However, one stumbling block is Vlahovic’s wage demands: he is seeking a contract worth around £200,000 per week at his next club, which could still be a stretch for United’s current wage structure.
Arsenal, meanwhile, remain interested but are prioritising other striker targets, with Sporting’s Viktor Gyokeres reportedly close to agreeing personal terms with the Gunners.
Other Premier League clubs, including Tottenham, Aston Villa, and Newcastle, have also been approached by Vlahovic’s camp, but the Serbian is said to be keenest on a move to the Premier League, particularly to United.
In summary, Dusan Vlahovic is set to be offered to Manchester United and other English clubs for a bargain fee this summer, but any deal will hinge on whether the interested parties are willing to meet his wage expectations and if they prioritise him over other striking options.
