Manchester United clearly need to improve their attacking threat and now striker Victor Osimhen has been linked in the January transfer window.
Worryingly the current strike force has only managed a combined eight goals in 37 games across all competitions.
It is part of the reason for the club sitting in 13th place in the Premier League, pushing for a much-needed change.
According to Il Mattino, United, Paris Saint-Germain, and Juventus are all interested in securing Osimhen, who currently has a €75million (£62.1m/$79.3m) break clause in his Galatasaray loan from Napoli.
The Nigerian has been noted for his tenacious performances this season, tallying up 10 goals and five assists.
In turn, Galatasaray has its sights set on securing Tottenham star, Heung-min Son to replace Osimhen. Turkish outlet Fanatik shared that the South Korean forward, whose contract with Spurs ends this summer, is on Galatasaray's radar.
Son, with five goals and four assists this season, carries an impressive track record including 17 goals and 10 assists in the previous term. He's seen as a potential quality replacement for Osimhen should Galatasaray manage to secure him.

Transfer tussle

Securing the services of both players won't come easy. United, along with Real Madrid, are said to be interested in Son, while Osimhen's release clause has captured the attention of several clubs.
Regardless of how this plays out, the upcoming transfer period is sure to be a heated one for all parties involved.
Meanwhile, United are once again linked to Frenkie de Jong, a Netherlands International, who has been a crucial piece of the Barca squad.
But his role seems to have diminished under the club’s new manager, Hansi Flick. His less prominent position and sub-par performances have set tongues wagging about a potential departure.
While the summer signing of Manuel Ugarte seemed promising, the player has yet to make a substantial impact.
Given this, and the need to replace Casemiro, many speculate that Amorim might revisit the idea of roping in De Jong. The final decision, however, might depend on the future that Barcelona sees for the Dutch player.

Joe Cole criticises Ashoworth

Ex-Liverpool, Chelsea, and England midfielder, Joe Cole, has criticised departing sporting director, Dan Ashworth, over what he believes is a 'terrible' business decision.
Cole blames the series of poor signings for redirecting the club onto a difficult path. Ashworth, who had transferred from Newcastle United, has parted ways with the Red Devils after a £200m spending spree during his 5-month tenure.

Impact

Ashworth was responsible for football performance and recruitment at Old Trafford. His departure comes after a disappointing start to the season. The club has also recently parted ways with manager Erik ten Hag, following back-to-back Premier League defeats under his leadership.
According to Cole, the team's new manager, Ruben Amorim, has a challenging job to tackle, owing to the poor recruitment decision in the previous transfer window.
Cole feels the club needs to reassess their recruitment strategy. United had bought five players over the summer. However, none of them have justified their hefty price tags yet.
"They can’t miss in the next transfer windows; they need to get players that can play for this United squad," added Cole.
In an interview with Paddy Power, Cole suggested this might be a tough season for the club, but not necessarily a total loss. He thinks targeting young players with potential, rather than top players, could be a more effective strategy for Manchester United during their current challenging period.
