Manchester United will be aiming for a fourth straight victory across all competitions when they host Crystal Palace at Old Trafford this afternoon.
Fresh off a 2-0 Europa League triumph over FCSB in Bucharest on Thursday, United secured their place in the last 16, courtesy of second-half goals from Diogo Dalot and Kobbie Mainoo.
Now, the focus shifts back to the Premier League as they look to secure back-to-back league wins for the first time this season—something they last achieved at the end of the previous campaign.
With this being their second game in less than 72 hours, head coach Ruben Amorim is expected to rotate his squad.
Harry Maguire, Manuel Ugarte, and Amad could all be in contention for a return to the starting XI.
Meanwhile, Crystal Palace arrive at Old Trafford in strong away form, unbeaten in their last seven Premier League matches on the road.
They will also be targeting a third consecutive away victory without conceding.
United have the chance to achieve back-to-back league wins for the first time under Amorim, while also eyeing consecutive clean sheets in the Premier League for the first time since September—the last of which came in a 0-0 draw at Selhurst Park.
A notable trend this season has seen United struggle to find the net early in games, failing to score a first-half goal in 17 league matches—more than any other side—while 68% of their Premier League goals (19 of 28) have come after the interval.
The Red Devils remain unbeaten in all 19 matches across league and cup competitions when scoring first (W11, D8), joining Arsenal and Newcastle as the only Premier League sides yet to lose after taking the lead.
Rasmus Hojlund, meanwhile, is looking to end a 12-match goal drought in all competitions, with his last goals coming in a brace against Viktoria Plzen on December 12.
