Gary Neville has pointed to two of Senne Lammens qualities which are making the difference for Manchester United.
Lammens was named Man of the Match against Everton with an assured display in goal while a solid rearguard action overall set up United for a 1-0 win.
Benjamin Sesko came off the bench to get the only goal of the game on Monday in a move which spread the length of the pitch.
And looking back Neville says that Lammens for him was the key player and singled out his "composure" and "calmness".
He stated: "The goalkeeper was my Man of the Match, not because he made loads of amazing saves but everything he did, he did really calmly and well.
"The tip over the bar at the end, there was a shot that bounced in front of him and he held it and Everton must have had about eight or nine corners and he didn't deal with every single one but he dealt with a lot of them.
"I think having a goalkeeper of composure he just does his job calmly who isn't frantic and rushing around makes a big difference in moments like that with enormous pressure."
And Neville was also pleased with the way the defence remained solid.
"They kept a clean sheet which is a good thing, good for Leny Yoro coming in, because before the game when you heard that Martinez wasn't playing you thought it might have been a problem as United's back four has been quite solid in the last few weeks," continued Neville.
"It was a good night where you would say United weren't at their best but they got three points.
"Obviously Liverpool getting a winner put a bit of pressure on Manchester United but they go up into fourth now on the shoulder of Aston Villa in a great position with Palace at the weekend who are having a challenging time."
While he felt it was an "important win", Neville did also highlight that United still have problems breaking down teams that sit back.
He added: "United still when they play against a team sitting deep, they don't quite have the sustained quality, tempo and rhythm of passing to break down teams, they still look better on the counter attack."
