Matheus Cunha has told what he believes he shares with Eric Cantona and what Ruben Amorim said to him about Manchester United before he signed.
The Brazilian attacker has been given the maverick tag with even Amorim pointing to how United need a player like him who has confidence and is ready to show his own personality on the pitch.
But on the comparison with United legend Cantona, Cunha said: "Wow I need to do a lot more to be compared to him, what a player!
"And you know, when someone says something like this to me, I try to see like the good part of this, you know, like to be someone with a lot of passion to play for this club, to play football, and then try to represent everyone on the pitch.
"I feel a privilege to be associated with these kind of things and with Cantona, well he made history. And then, yeah, if I can do a little percentage of what he did already, I'll be very happy.
"Then I will try and do my own way so that people will also remember me also."
Cunha's strong performances against United helped sealed his move to the Reds and he was seen talking with Amorim after the clash at Old Trafford.
Remembering what the United boss said, Cunha revealed: "He said take care, what do you feel about this stadium?"
And he continued: "He shows the energy and the passion to be part of his team and to do the things for his team and the club, to show what you can do to be better."
Cunha also says how he deals with the pressure of playing for United.
"I am not someone special, of course I have my doubts also, I have good and bad moments like everyone, but these kind of worries don't have an impact, the pressure to play for this club, to be someone different to the other. I only want to do my way to help the team, I only want to build my dream and to be a small part of the successful history of United."
