Ruben Amorim has said that the "door is open" for
Kobbie Mainoo and other players to speak to him if they are unhappy with him at Manchester United but none have come in.
Mainoo's brother wore a "free
Kobbie Mainoo" t-shirt for the last game against Bournemouth while youth players Chido Obi and Harry Amass took to Instagram in a defiant move after being criticised by
Amorim over their level of football.
But Amorim hit back in a press conference on Friday saying the door to his office "is open" but nobody had come in.
And he claimed that there is a sense of "entitlement" at United.
He continued: "And sometimes strong words are not bad words. Sometimes difficult moments are not a bad thing for the kids. We don't need to be always with accolades in everything, in every situation.
"We are not helping, that's why you guys (the press) talk about a lot of players nowadays that they speak and they go against the clubs and everything happened because they feel entitlement.
"And then you have legends of the club saying that if you don't play, leave because everyone is wrong. No, let's think about, let's stay, let's fight, let's overcome."
Amorim also said that while he may make mistakes with the team on the pitch, he doesn't in terms of effort to prepare the team.
"And again, sometimes I'm the first one to say that I'm failing this club on the pitch," he said. "I have that feeling. We are not performing the way we should be.
"But outside the pitch, I guarantee you, I'm not failing to this club. So I think it's something in our club, and we talk about the players, sometimes we forget about what it means to play for Manchester United.
"We as a club sometimes forget who we are. And that's the feeling that I have. So I understand everything. The environment is due to the moment of the club, the players, the kids, they feel entitled, they feel free to respond to the manager with a picture.
"My office is open, nobody is coming to talk to me. And that is the way we can solve things. So I think we need to change first as a club and then everything is going to change."
