Paul Scholes says
Ruben Amorim "doesn't get the club full stop" and also blasted those behind his appointment as Manchester United manager.
The legendary midfielder pulled no punches as he said that he didn't think Amorim is the right man to manage United. He followed it on from his expletive on social media over Amorim's use of Kobbie Mainoo.
Scholes wrote on Instagram "bulls***" after Amorim told reporters that he saw Mainoo as a "starter" even though he has given him very little match time.
It was following the West Ham match where United drew and Mainoo wasn't brought on. Scholes quickly deleted the expletive afterwards.
"I don't know why I do that, I deleted it 10 minutes later (...) it's when I read something and it winds me up. Kobbie Mainoo, he says he is a starter, he's made nine appearances in the Premier League, every one of them as a sub," said Scholes.
He added it's "none of his business what am I getting involved for".
Scholes was talking on The Good, the Bad and the Football podcast where Butt agreed: "The Kobbie one is an absolute joke."
He continued: "I went to the game last Thursday, I'm looking at it, it was an absolute s*** show. It was a terrible game, boring, nothing great. The subs warm up, you're thinking, 'right, who are we going to put on to change the game?'
"The only one I could put on to change the game, in my opinion would have been Kobbie - he didn't even get on the pitch."
And Scholes said: "I wouldn't mind if it was a good team winning every week and keeping possession."
Scholes then turned on Amorim's style of football saying: "I don't think this manager just gets this club full stop. I just don't think he's the right man. Man United is about risk and entertainment more than anything. At home, especially.
"At home having fans on the edge of the seat, f***ing ready to go, wingers who beat people, shots on goal, pieces of skill, there's nothing there."
And he questioned why the club board brought in Amorim in the first place. He said: "They've got Omar Barada, they've got Jason Wilcox, who are probably brilliant at the job, brilliant at what they do.
"They're not
man utd, they don't have a clue what it's like to buy a Manchester United player - and to bring a Manchester United manager in. If you go to Sporting Lisbon and watch, they play three at the back, right away, that's no. Man Utd never do that. They can't do that.
"They just can't. It's been proven over years and years and years. And I'm talking even before Alex Ferguson, It was always about 4-4-1-1 or 4-4-2.
"Entertaining people, he hasn't got that in him. So that's why I'm saying Jason Wilcox, they've gone out and watched Sporting Lisbon and how can they think that's a Manchester United manager?"
Scholes also looked back at his United career and said that Ferguson demanded attacking football. He recalled an occasion when the team sat back on a lead and Fergie was furious.
"I remember once, I think we were playing Chelsea, we went 1-0 up and we sat back a little bit and Chelsea were a good team. Sometimes you get forced to do that. We sat back," said Scholes.
"The manager went absolutely nuts after the game. That doesn't happen here. When you score one, you go for two. You go for the throat every single time. This, I just don't think he gets it."
