Roy Keane admits he may quit his career as a football pundit due to repeated altercations with fans.
He opened up about his plans for the future before his recent showdown with an Ipswich Town supporter.
The former Man Utd midfielder has talked about going abroad but it is not clear what he is planning to do away from punditry and whether it is a return to coaching or something completely different.
He has had mixed success as a manager, notably winning promotion to the Premier League with Sunderland and a disappointing spell as Ipswich Town where he ended up being sacked.
Keane spat with fan
The incident happened after Manchester United's 1-1 draw at Portman Road. The tough-talking Irishman took issue with a fan who had allegedly been taunting him during the broadcast.
Keane, in response, invited the supporter to settle the matter in the car park. Following this confrontation, Sky's crew stepped in to defuse the situation with Jamie Redknapp urging Keane to 'leave it.'
Frequent altercations
Keane, who began his punditry career with ITV in 2011 and later became a staple on Sky Sports, has been no stranger to such conflicts.
In fact, the former midfielder had confessed on the 'Stick to Football' podcast that these frequent confrontations were starting to take their toll on him, pushing him to consider retirement.
Keane's future
Despite recently suggesting his pending retirement and expressing a desire to move abroad, Keane is expected to continue his punditry role with Sky Sports until the end of the 2024/25 Premier League season.
"In the next couple of years, I reckon I will be moving abroad...putting it out there," he said. When prompted to disclose his potential destination, Switzerland was hinted at.
