A Manchester United academy starlet sent a resounding message to Ruben Amorim on Friday night, bagging an astonishing six goals in a 9-1 demolition of Blackburn Rovers in the U18 Premier League at Carrington.
Victor Musa, already tipped as one of the brightest talents in United’s youth ranks, delivered a performance for the ages, leaving coaches and teammates in awe.
Musa showcased his predatory instincts with a first-half hat-trick before adding three more after the break.
His haul included a curling 20-yard strike, a deft chip over the keeper, and a clinical finish from a tight angle—goals that had onlookers drawing comparisons to a young Wayne Rooney.
Gabriele Biancheri and Ethan Williams chipped in with the other two, but it was Ibragimov’s night, as United’s U18s moved top of the northern section with the emphatic win.
He joined United’s academy at age six and has been fast-tracked through the age groups. Last season, he made his U18 debut at just 14, scoring twice against Liverpool, and his latest heroics have only heightened the buzz around his potential.
“He’s a natural finisher,” U18s coach Colin Little told MEN Sport after the match. “Six goals at any level is special, but the way he took them—calm, composed, ruthless—it’s what sets him apart.”
With United’s first team struggling—13th in the Premier League and winless in their last five—Musa’s display offers a glimmer of hope for the future. Amorim, who has made a point of monitoring the club’s youth prospects since taking over in November, wasn’t present at Carrington but will surely hear about this.
The Portuguese boss has already handed debuts to academy graduates like Ethan Wheatley this season, and Ibragimov’s name is now firmly in the conversation.
Social media lit up post-match, with United fans clamoring for the teenager to get a senior look-in. “Six goals at 15? Get him in the first team now, Amorim!” one supporter posted on X.
United’s academy has a storied history of producing stars—think Ryan Giggs, Paul Scholes, and more recently Alejandro Garnacho—and Ibragimov’s trajectory suggests he could follow suit.
His versatility, able to play as a No. 9 or drop into a No. 10 role, fits Amorim’s fluid 3-4-2-1 system, though club insiders say he’s still at least a year away from serious first-team contention.
For now, Musa remains grounded. In a brief chat with club media, he said, “I’m buzzing, but it’s about the team.
We played well, and I just took my chances.” Next up for the U18s is a trip to Leeds United, where all eyes will be on whether the young striker can keep his hot streak alive.
