Manchester United have made Marcus Rashford, Jadon Sancho, and Antony available for transfer this summer as part of Rúben Amorim’s sweeping squad overhaul, according to multiple reports.
Following a disastrous 2024/25 campaign that saw United finish 15th in the Premier League and miss out on all European competitions, Amorim — backed by INEOS leadership — has been given full authority to reshape the squad, and that includes moving on high-earning, underperforming stars.
Among the most notable names on the list is Marcus Rashford, who has spent over a decade at the club.
The 27-year-old endured a miserable season, scoring just six goals and facing criticism for both form and body language. Barcelona are reportedly interested, but may only pursue a loan-to-buy deal due to Rashford’s £350,000-a-week wages.
“We need committed players who fit our system,” Amorim recently said. “Reputation alone doesn’t guarantee a place in the squad.”
Jadon Sancho, currently on loan at Borussia Dortmund, is also up for sale. Though the winger has enjoyed a moderate resurgence in Germany, he remains unlikely to return under Amorim, who favours high-pressing wingers with tactical discipline.
Dortmund are exploring a permanent transfer, though they’re unlikely to match United’s original £73m investment, reported The Times.
Antony, meanwhile, spent the back end of the season on loan at Real Betis. With just two goals and two assists all year, the Brazilian has struggled to justify his £85 million price tag since arriving from Ajax. Amorim is understood to have greenlit his departure, and interest is expected from clubs in Spain and the Saudi Pro League.
“This is the clearest signal yet that no player is untouchable,” said former United striker Louis Saha. “It’s about rebuilding from scratch with the right mentality.”
United’s aim is to raise funds and clear wage space to accelerate deals for targets like Bryan Mbeumo, Pedro Gonçalves, and a top-tier centre-back. With the transfer window set to open in June, fans should expect major movement early, especially involving outgoing players.
