Hojlund double sees Man Utd come from behind to beat Plzen 2-1 after Onana blunder

Rasmus Hojlund said he can "kill defenders" with his speed after scoring twice for Manchester United against FC Viktoria Plzen.

It was a night to remember for United as they secured a 2-1 victory over Plzen in the Europa League, courtesy of Hojlund's second-half goals.

Trailing after an early second-half goal from Plzen, United's fortunes took a turn for the better when Hojlund was introduced to the fray.

Plzen drew first blood just three minutes into the second half, capitalising on a defensive mistake from United's Andre Onana.

United's manager, Ruben Amorim, responded by introducing Hojlund into the mix - a move that eventually paid off.

Hojlund was quick to make an impact, leading the attack and scoring twice, turning the tide of the game.

His performance not only secured United's victory but also saw him emerge as the top scorer of the Europa League this season.

In an interview with MUTV after the match, Hojlund shared his thoughts on the game. "We had to read them and they played man-to-man, so we got a little bit more control after the team talk at half-time," he said.

"The opponent was brave to play man-to-man and that's where I have my qualities, running into the channels and killing the defenders with my speed and power."

Hojlund also underscored the importance of understanding teammate movements.

"The manager is also trying to sort of play with players who complement each other very well," he said. "Getting in front for a goal and that's what I'm trying to do.

"I'm very happy with the two goals but the most important thing is getting the win and getting a step closer to the knockouts."

The victory propelled United to 12 points in the Europa League, leaving them well-positioned ahead of their remaining games against Rangers and FCSB.

With mere steps away from the knockout phase, the team's spirits are undoubtedly high.
