Manchester United winger
Alejandro Garnacho is reported to have had a rift with
Ruben Amorim sparking rumours about his future.
The 20-year-old Argentine, widely regarded as one of United’s brightest young talents, was angry after starting on the bench in the 1-0 loss to Tottenham Hotspur in the
Europa League final.
Garnacho later ‘liked’ a critical post on X (formerly Twitter), which accused Amorim of “destroying his own players,” before quickly unliking it.
“Amorim brought Garnacho off for tactical reasons, but the body language from the winger told a different story,” said former
Red Devil Paul Parker in a post-match interview. “You could see he was furious.”
According to multiple reports, Amorim and Garnacho have had tense exchanges in recent weeks, with the manager said to be frustrated by the youngster’s attitude in training, while Garnacho is reportedly unhappy with his tactical role and recent substitutions.
While United have not commented publicly, sources close to the club suggest that Garnacho may be made available for transfer this summer, should a significant offer arrive. Clubs in Spain and Germany are already monitoring the situation.
“The manager needs discipline, but he also needs creativity. Garnacho has been one of their few bright spots this season. Losing him would be a blow,” added Parker.
Despite the unrest, Garnacho has been one of United’s top performers, contributing 9 goals and 6 assists across all competitions in a difficult campaign. His energy, directness, and flair have made him a fan favourite, and many supporters have expressed frustration over how the situation is being handled.
“He plays with heart, and now they’re pushing him out?” said one supporter on social media. “This can’t be how we treat our youth.”
With a squad overhaul underway and Amorim reportedly planning major changes this summer, Garnacho’s future at Old Trafford is now uncertain — and United risk losing another homegrown talent if tensions aren’t resolved soon.
