Bruno Fernandes has shown his leadership qualities as he encourages other players at Carrington even when he isn't training himself.
The Manchester United captain has impressed staff at Carrington by spending his recovery days watching team-mates from the sidelines — a gesture that sums up his commitment to the club.
Fernandes has become a daily presence at the training ground, often choosing to brave the cold instead of remaining inside the recovery suite.
While most players take lighter sessions following heavy match involvement, the Portugal international insists on being out on the pitch, offering feedback and motivation to his fellow players.
Coaches have been “wowed” by the midfielder’s approach, describing him as a natural leader who continues to drive standards through words and example.
One staff member reportedly said Fernandes “sets the tone for what the manager wants — effort, intensity and togetherness” reported The Sun.
His influence has already been felt. Ahead of United’s 4-2 win over Brighton, Fernandes was seen working closely with Bryan Mbeumo, encouraging the forward to be more decisive in front of goal.
“You don’t need that extra touch — trust your instinct,” he told him during training. Days later, Mbeumo scored twice in that match, symbolising the captain’s growing impact off the pitch as much as on it.
Fernandes recently made his 300th appearance for Manchester United — a milestone few reach — and continues to embody the drive expected of a leader in Rúben Amorim’s new-look side.
His decision to stay at the club this summer, despite interest from the Saudi Pro League, only reinforced his sense of loyalty and unfinished business at Old Trafford.
For Amorim, Fernandes’ influence is invaluable. The manager wants a squad built on accountability and leadership, and his captain provides exactly that.
Whether he’s dictating play from midfield or shouting encouragement during a cold-weather session, Bruno Fernandes remains United’s heartbeat — the standard-bearer for commitment, professionalism, and belief.
