Bruno Fernandes is at the centre of a fresh wave of Saudi interest after he made it clear he wanted to stay at Manchester United.
According to latest reports, Al-Ittihad has emerged as the latest suitor for Fernandes, making contact in the final stages of the window.
This comes as United push to bolster their squad, closing in on a £17 million deal for goalkeeper Senne Lammens and exploring midfield reinforcements like Stuttgart’s Angelo Stiller, while also considering offers for Rasmus Hojlund.
And it comes on the back of a 1-1 draw against Fulham where Bruno missed a first half penalty and United struggled to assert themselves on the game. The argument in favour of selling Bruno is that he could bring up to £100million to reinvest.
This renewed interest follows earlier approaches from Al-Hilal and Al-Nassr, both of which Fernandes firmly rebuffed this summer.
Al-Nassr had targeted Fernandes with a proposal intended to reunite him with Cristiano Ronaldo and João Félix—but the Portuguese midfielder opted to remain at Old Trafford.
Fernandes’ stance mirrors his decision earlier in the summer, when he declined a significant offer from Al-Hilal—reportedly upwards of £100 million for Manchester United and £700,000 per week in personal terms—to stay and compete at the highest level in Europe.
He cited discussions with his family and manager Rúben Amorim as key to that resolve.
For United, this fresh approach presents another test of the club’s and player’s commitment amid financial pressure and squad reconstruction, reported The Sun. A sale to Al-Ittihad could give United up to £100million.
While the club reportedly would only consider a sale if Fernandes expressed a desire to move, his repeated rejections reinforce his ambition to stay.
As the window nears its end, fans and pundits alike watch closely: will Fernandes hold firm a third time, or will Saudi clubs renew their pursuit with even more compelling offers? For now, the midfielder’s preference—and loyalty—remains clear.
