Marcus Rashford is ready to make his Barcelona dream permanent — with the Spanish giants reportedly preparing a £30million move to keep the Manchester United star at the Nou Camp.
Barca chiefs have been “ecstatic” with Rashford’s form since his loan switch in the summer.
The England forward has scored three goals and set up five more in ten games, quickly winning over boss Hansi Flick and the Catalan faithful. He has also been happy to take on a secondary role so far and been willing to fight for a place in the team.
United agreed to include a £30m permanent transfer clause when the deal was struck, with Barca now ready to trigger it. The package would see £25m paid upfront and a further £5m in bonuses, while United would retain a sell-on clause for any future move.
A club insider told The Sun: “Everyone at Barca has been blown away by Rashford. They knew he was good, but he’s been on another level since coming here.
"He’s loving life, he’s settled in the city, and he wants to stay. The coaches think they’ve got a superstar on their hands.”
It’s also understood Rashford’s rejuvenation has impressed England boss Thomas Tuchel, who name-checked him after his bright performance in the Three Lions’ 3–0 win over Wales.
Flick pushed hard for Rashford’s loan after Deco and senior figures expressed doubts over his Manchester United form. His brother and agent, Dwaine, was instrumental in assuring Barca that Marcus just needed a fresh start.
For United, a permanent move could ease financial pressure while allowing Rashford to rebuild his career abroad. But sources at Old Trafford insist nothing will be decided until the January window.
If completed, the transfer would end Rashford’s nine-year spell at Old Trafford — and could mark one of the first major departures of the Sir Jim Ratcliffe era.
