Marcus Rashford remains sidelined by
Manchester United manager
Ruben Amorim, despite the forward "wanting" to play.
The home grown talent has missed United’s last three matches, starting with their 2-1 win over Manchester City in the derby.
The 27-year-old forward further fueled speculation about his future by admitting he is ready "for a new challenge."
Since then,
Rashford has been completely excluded from the squad under Amorim's leadership.
Addressing the situation,
Amorim been clear that it is not the Rashford not wanting to play but his decision as manager.
He stated: "It's my decision. He wants to play. He is trying. Yes, it's my decision, only my decision.
"No, I spoke with a lot of players individually during training, so I'm trying to do things my way.
"And it's the only way I know. If I don't do that, I will lose myself, and I will not lose myself. I know what I am doing."
Rashford will also miss United’s Boxing Day clash against Wolves, continuing his absence during a crucial period for the club.
His his team-mates are reportedly frustrated after Rashford openly expressed his desire to leave the club.
There’s even speculation that United could look to loan him out in January to address the ongoing tension.
In an interview with journalist Henry Winter, Rashford candidly stated: "For me, personally, I think I'm ready for a new challenge and the next steps."
He added: "When I leave, it's going to be ‘no hard feelings.’ You’re not going to have any negative comments from me about Manchester United. That’s me as a person.
"If I know that a situation is already bad, I'm not going to make it worse.
I've seen how other players have left in the past, and I don't want to be that person. When I leave, I'll make a statement, and it will be from me."
