Ruben Amorim says "make your mind up" if he has seen a difference in Marcus Rashford's attitude.
Speaking after Man Utd's 2-0 loss to Wolves, the Portuguese offered his most foreboding comments yet on Rashford's future.
The England striker, once a cornerstone of the squad, was omitted from the lineup for the fourth consecutive match, including the Manchester Derby.
Rashford, who recently admitted he is ready for a "new challenge," was sidelined again as the Red Devils’ struggles deepened.
When questioned if Rashford had "shown him anything different" since being dropped, Amorim delivered a cryptic response: "If he's not here… you can make your mind (up)."
The defeat at Molineux, in which United conceded directly from a corner for the second time in eight days, saw the team fall to 14th in the table.
Amorim expressed his frustration, saying: "It's always the same reason. We have to be same professionals, same guys, winning or losing. Losing, I have to be stronger. I will continue with my idea until the end."
Despite the ongoing speculation, Amorim confirmed before the match that Rashford is eager to return to the team, but he made it clear the decision lies solely with him.
"It's my decision. He wants to play. He is trying. Yes, it's my decision, only my decision," Amorim stated.
The manager also explained his approach to handling players during this challenging period.
"No, I spoke with a lot of players individually during training so I'm trying to do things my way. And it's the only way I know. If I don't do that, I will lose myself and I will not lose myself. I know what I am doing," he said.
Meanwhile, Rashford has seemingly accepted that his future lies away from Old Trafford. Speaking to journalist Henry Winter, he said: "For me, personally, I think I'm ready for a new challenge and the next steps."
However, he was quick to assure fans that his departure would be amicable. "When I leave, it's going to be ‘no hard feelings’," he saod.
"You’re not going to have any negative comments from me about Manchester United. That’s me as a person.
"If I know that a situation is already bad, I'm not going to make it worse. I've seen how other players have left in the past, and I don't want to be that person. When I leave, I'll make a statement, and it will be from me."
Despite the turmoil, Rashford shared a heartwarming family photo on Christmas Eve, enjoying a festive meal with loved ones.
The image, which appeared to be taken at a pub or restaurant, featured menus on the table for the 18 people present. Captioning the post, Rashford wrote: "Family time - Happy Christmas everyone."
Fans responded warmly, with comments like: "We love you Rashy" and "Merry Christmas GOAT."
As United’s crisis continues, the future of one of their longest-serving players remains shrouded in uncertainty.
