Manchester United forward Ethan Williams has committed his long-term future to the club by signing a new contract until 2028, with the option of a further year.
The 19-year-old, who has been with the club since childhood, has agreed fresh terms before heading out on loan to Scottish Premiership side Falkirk, subject to international clearance.
The deal which runs until 2028 and has an option for a year more, is seen as a significant reward for Williams’ steady progress through
United’s academy ranks. His rise was highlighted during the club’s pre-season Tour 2025, where he scored his first senior goal in a 4–1 victory over Bournemouth in Chicago.
Coming off the bench, the Manchester-born forward netted the fourth goal to cap a convincing performance and underline his potential as one to watch for the future.
Williams is no stranger to senior football, having spent last season on loan at Cheltenham Town in League Two, reported
ManUtd.com.
He adapted well to the physical demands of the division and netted his first professional goals, gaining valuable experience that helped pave the way for another loan move this year.
Now, the teenager will continue his development in Scotland with Falkirk, a club newly promoted to the top flight. Managed by John McGlynn, the Bairns face a tough test in the Premiership.
Williams will hope to play a key role in their bid to establish themselves in the division, while also showcasing the attacking qualities that convinced United to secure his long-term future.
For
United, the move reflects their ongoing strategy of nurturing academy graduates by providing them with competitive senior football opportunities before integrating them into the first team.
The winger’s new contract until 2028 gives him time and security to continue his development while underlining the club’s faith in his potential.
As he begins this new chapter with Falkirk, all eyes will be on how the promising youngster handles the challenge of top-flight Scottish football.
